Giant Food Stores announced this week that it plans to move from its Allentown location on West Emmaus Avenue to the South Mall in Salisbury Township in 2025. The new 68,000 square foot store will open in the vacated Bon-Ton space, with a fuel station on a pad.

ShopRite to close five stores in Albany, NY area

Wakefern announced that five ShopRite supermarkets will close this winter in the Albany, NY market and that as many as 500 workers will lose their jobs. The store closings are planned for Colonie, Slingerlands, Albany, North Greenbush, and Niskayuna. The closings are due to poor sales, according to a Wakefern spokesperson.

McCaffrey's opens Gladwyne, PA store

McCaffrey’s, the regional grocery chain with locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, opened its eight store last week in Gladwyne, PA at the site of a former Acme Supermarket.
