The first Whole Foods Market Daily Shop opened this week in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. At 9,101 square feet, the store is significantly smaller than a traditional Whole Foods supermarket, and its focus is on convenience. Located at 1175 Third Avenue, it offers grab-and-go meals and snacks, and weekly essentials and meal ingredients aimed at commuter and urban residents.
Whole Foods estimates that the Daily Shop will include more than 400 local products from many suppliers who are new to the grocery retailer.
According to the company, more Daily Shop locations are in the works for New York City, including in the East Village and Hell’s Kitchen.
