Last month CNBC compared prices on Amazon Prime Now, Peapod and Walmart for grocery items to be delivered in Northern New Jersey. They looked at 25 “everyday” items, including a mix of national brands and each retailer’s store brands, and organic and traditional products.
The result? A cart of nearly identical items delivered to your home from Walmart cost 31% less than Amazon Prime, and 22% less than Peapod.
And Walmart, which already had the least expensive delivery fees on the market according to CNBC, is now rolling out its Delivery Unlimited service. For a $98 annual fee or $12.95 monthly fee, the company will provide unlimited deliveries for online grocery orders of at least $30. Customers without a subscription can still pay a per-delivery fee.
