Wakefern announced that five ShopRite supermarkets will close this winter in the Albany, NY market and that as many as 500 workers will lose their jobs.
The store closings are planned for Colonie, Slingerlands, Albany, North Greenbush, and Niskayuna.
The closings are due to poor sales, according to a Wakefern spokesperson.
