Shoppers can now buy from Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods in one order

Amazon announced earlier this month that it has modified fulfillment centers at 26 Amazon Fresh stores to include select products from Whole Foods Market and Amazon.com. In addition, the company is launching a related pilot project at the Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting, PA where it is building its first-ever automated micro-fulfillment center.

Shoppers near the modified fulfillment centers can order products from that specific Amazon Fresh store, plus specialty products from Whole Foods, and national brands like Coke, Kraft, and Tide from Amazon.com.

At the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods store, Amazon’s micro-fulfillment center will allow shoppers to also purchase products from Amazon Fresh and Amazon.com. Customers can purchase these products in-store and online for delivery or pickup.

“When you think most customers will go to four to five grocery retailers a month, that’s pretty hard,” said Amazon Fresh Vice President Claire Peters. “We believe at Amazon that we can change that by making grocery shopping as easy every day for customers, making it affordable, making it simple, making it fast.”
