In the latest version of the GlobalData Top 25 Global Retailers list, which ranks the largest retailers in the world based on revenue, Walmart and Amazon ranked one and two, respectively, for 2021. CVS and Costco were third and fourth.
Several other U.S.-based grocery retailers appeared on the list, including the following:
- Kroger (7)
- Walgreens (8)
- Target (9)
- Ahold Delhaize (13)
- 7-Eleven (15)
- Albertsons (17)
- Circle K (19)
“All 25 of the retailers we tracked implemented measures to expand their business operations during the COVID-19 period,” said Divya Vootkuru, a business fundamentals analyst with GlobalData. “Major online retailers such as Amazon, JD.com and Alibaba gained revenue growth of above 20% in FY2021.”
