Lidl announced that it plans to open a 23,000 square foot store next summer at 408 Grand Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. According to reports, Lidl signed a lease with affordable housing non-profit Grand Street Guild.
Earlier this year the company announced plans for its second Manhattan location in Chelsea, which is slated to open in 2026. Lidl’s first store in the borough opened in Harlem in 2022.
