Lidl opens 100th U.S. store

David Goodman | May 27, 2020 |

Lidl opened its 100th U.S. store earlier today in Suwanee, GA. Recent growth for the discount grocer has been steady, but when Lidl entered the U.S. market, they planned on having 100 stores by the summer of 2018. Since then, the company has seen leadership changes and real estate strategy shifts.

Here is a breakdown by state of where the 100 Lidl stores are located (for those checking my math, the website actually lists 101 stores).

  • New York: 5
  • New Jersey: 8
  • Pennsylvania: 7
  • Delaware: 2
  • Maryland: 9
  • Virginia: 27
  • North Carolina: 24
  • South Carolina: 13
  • Georgia: 6
