Giant’s two-level store to open in Philly’s Riverwalk development

Giant announced that its 65,000 square foot, two-level “flagship” store in Philadelphia will open on March 19. The store will serve as the centerpiece of the Logan Square neighborhood’s Riverwalk mixed-use development, and operate below 25 floors of apartments whose occupants will have a private elevator into the second floor sales area.

The Giant lobby sits on the first level with direct access to a parking garage, and includes a full-size Starbucks café. All of the supermarket offerings will be on the second floor.

The Riverwalk store will feature a Food Hall overlooking the Schuylkill River that includes Mexican and Japanese offerings, as well as made-to-order sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, smoked meats, hot foods, and gelato. The new Giant will also have the largest beer and wine collection in the company’s footprint.
