Federal Realty’s renovation of the Willow Grove Shopping Center may include an Amazon Fresh grocery store. According to filings with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Amazon Fresh has applied for a liquor license at 102 Park Ave., the address of the closed Barnes & Noble bookstore at the shopping center.
Willow Grove Shopping Center is currently anchored by Marshalls and Five Below, among others. Federal’s website states that a multimillion dollar renovation will include a “new-to-market grocery concept.”
Amazon recently opened grocery stores in Warrington and Broomall, and locations are planned for Bensalem, Langhorne, Havertown and Philadelphia. There are currently 41 operating Amazon Fresh stores in the U.S.
