The Philadelphia Business Journal reported last week that Amazon Retail LLC applied for a liquor license at a space at Red Lion Plaza in Northeast Philadelphia, so it is widely expected that an Amazon Fresh grocery store will be coming to the center.
The brokerage that leases vacant space in the center shows that a “national grocer” has leased the former Raymour & Flannigan store, which is 43,825 square feet.
Several grocery stores already exist in the market, including Acme, Giant, Aldi, ShopRite and Lidl.
According to reports, Red Lion Plaza, at 240,000 square feet in total, was sold last week for $56.5 million.
