Aldi confirmed last week that it will open its new store near North Broad Street in North Philadelphia sometime next month. The store will be on the ground floor of a 14-story, 475-unit residential building and represents the first time in Philadelphia that the discount retailer will be part of a mixed-use development.
Aldi’s address will be 1300 Fairmount Avenue, and the main entrance will be on Ridge Avenue.
According to reports, the new Aldi will feature a fresh foods section that’s significantly larger than in its older stores, and at 25,000 square feet overall, the store is larger than its typical prototype.
