BJ’s Wholesale Club announced that it plans to open 25 to 30 clubs in the next two fiscal years. Most of the new stores will be in existing markets, but the warehouse club will also enter the Dallas-Fort Worth market with several locations.
In addition, BJ’s said its club planned for Delray Beach, FL will be about 43,000 square feet, which is about half the size of a standard BJ’s. The company unveiled the smaller format in 2002 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
BJ’s currently operates 252 clubs and 188 gas stations in 21 states.
