Whole Foods CEO Jason Buechel said earlier this month that the company is moving forward with its plan to open 30 stores a year, some of which will be smaller format stores that range in size from 7,000 to 14,000 square feet.

In March the Amazon-owned chain, with 530 stores in the United States, England, and Canada, announced that it has over 75 new locations in the works.
