Wegmans announced that its Yardley, PA store, which will be part of the new Prickett Preserve development, will open on March 20. It’s the company’s second Bucks County location (Warrington), and at 88,000 square feet (SF), it’s smaller than many of its other supermarkets in the Greater Philadelphia market.
Historically Wegmans stores were at least 100,000 SF, with some close to 150,000 SF. However, recent openings have been closer to Yardley’s size. The Greenwich Village, NY store that opened in October is about 90,000 SF, and its Alexandria, VA store – opened in December 2022 – is 81,300 SF.
The Yardley store will feature all the traditional departments that Wegmans is known for, including restaurant foods (sushi, pizza, salads and sandwiches), produce, seafood, meat, bakery, deli and cheese, and wine and beer.
Wegmans operates 110 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and Massachusetts.
