Lidl-anchored center to replace industrial plant in South Philly

Recent reports state that the century-old industrial plant that sits across the street from John’s Roast Pork at the corner of East Snyder Ave. and Weccacoe Ave. in South Philly will be replaced with a shopping center anchored by Lidl and including Advance Auto Parts, Chase Bank, Raising Cane’s and Shake Shack. The area is already a shopping destination, with several big box stores, grocers and restaurants nearby.

Until recently ingredients for cosmetic products were manufactured at the site, but the company transitioned its operations to North Carolina in 2019. Rising Real Estate reported last month that the city issued zoning permits to demolish the facility.
