CVS steps up in-store food offerings

CVS announced that it has significantly expanded its offerings in the frozen food and prepared foods categories. Select stores now carry an increased assortment of brands from Beyond Meat, Bird’s Eye, Ore-Ida and Amy’s Kitchen. In addition, fresh prepared foods and other refrigerated grab-and-go options are available in select stores.

CVS said that more than half of their nearly 250-item expansion focuses on healthier snacks and new flavor combinations, including popular national and niche brands. The expanded offerings reflect the company’s continued effort to boost its in-store consumables offerings sparked by the public’s appetite for convenience.

CVS Pharmacy operates nearly 10,000 retail locations, including more than 1,700 pharmacies inside Target and Schnuck Markets stores.
