Wegmans proposed for Lower Makefield in Bucks County, PA

A Yardley, PA developer has proposed a mixed-use development in Lower Makefield, PA that would include Wegmans as well as 55,000 square feet of retail and 200 apartments on a 36-acre property. The project, called Prickett Run at Edgewood, would also include a clubhouse, courtyard, splash fountain, amphitheater, and the preservation of an historic building and barn.

The plan has to gain approval from the township’s planning commission and zoning board, and ultimately the township supervisors. It is already facing public scrutiny, as some residents have spoken out against it, largely due to traffic concerns.

The township already has three supermarkets – Giant, McCaffrey’s and ShopRite
