ShopRite to roll out inventory management robot

Wakefern announced that it is bringing AI-powered robotics to more ShopRite supermarkets following a successful pilot at 20 stores over the last several months. The Tally robot, a product of California-based Simbe, provides store associates with information to ensure products are stocked, in the right location, and correctly priced.

According to Wakefern, Simbe’s real-time insights “significantly reduced out-of-stock rates, maximized inventory availability, and enabled associates to be more effective and focus more of their time on delivering better experiences for customers.”

Simbe claims that Tally autonomously roams stores multiple times per day, requires only one day to set up, and achieves ROI within 60 days. Last month Simbe announced a Series B raise of $28 million for further expansion.
