CVS Health To Hire 50,000 Workers Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Drugstore giant CVS Health will hire 50,000 full and part-time workers and award bonuses for certain employees working to meet “unprecedented” need as the U.S. grapples with the outbreak of the Coronavirus strain Covid-19.

Walmart and Walgreens Boots Alliance have also announced plans to fill thousands of full and part-time positions.  In CVS Health’s case, the company said the company said it plans to “immediately fill 50,000 full-time, part-time and temporary roles across the country.”

Grocery Outlet sees strong finish to fiscal year

Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. topped Wall Street’s earnings forecast for its 2019 fourth quarter and fiscal year, with net sales climbing by double digits in both periods.

CEO Eric Lindberg Tuesday said that Grocery Outlet is adapting to soaring demand from the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, crediting employees and vendor partners for helping go the extra mile to meet customers’ needs during the health crisis.
