Macy’s ‘Trading Cards’

A friend of mine in the business once referred to a retailer’s opening and closing of stores as ‘trading cards’.  In order to survive in any climate, retailers seem to always be ‘trading cards’ in an ongoing attempt to achieve that perfect combination of stores.  It’s when retailers stop trading cards that we should be concerned.
