Giant signs South Philadelphia lease

The Philadelphia Business Journal reported that Giant has signed a lease for a 40,000 square foot store in Bart Blatstein’s South Philadelphia development at Broad Street and Washington Avenue. According to the story, plans call for the supermarket to be part of the first phase of the project that includes 80,000 square feet of retail below high-rise apartments.

Save-A-Lot (Washington Ave) and Sprouts Farmers Market (Broad and Carpenter Streets) are already in the immediate vicinity.
