Giant planning Columbus Blvd store at Philly waterfront

The Philadelphia Business Journal reported Friday that Giant is planning another Philly store in another Tower Investments project. According to the report, Giant will occupy 46,000 square feet on Columbus Boulevard, along the Delaware River waterfront.

It had been reported the previous week that Giant plans to open a store in a project proposed by Tower Investments at Broad Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia.

Approximately 35,000 square feet of additional retail is planned for the waterfront site, as well as a Wawa, although some oppose Wawa’s presence due to the gas pumps, which are currently not permitted to front Columbus Boulevard, as per zoning regulations. Future hearings on the topic are scheduled.
