Plymouth Meeting, PA, December 21, 2016 – Rob Samtmann, Brian Wherty and Rich Zeller of Equity Retail Brokers recently represented Starbucks in leasing a 2,100 SF freestanding drive-thru on West Chester Pike in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
The site is located immediately off the Blue Route (Rt. 476) and is surrounded by a dense residential area. Starbucks improved their position in the market by getting closer to Rt. 476 and this new store includes a much-needed drive-through to capture the area’s commuter traffic.
Now open, the new Starbucks was a former mixed-used retail and office building that suffered a fire and sat vacant for an extended period of time. The site presented significant development and operational challenges considering the steeply sloping topography.
The Starbucks story began in 1971 with a single store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Today, Starbucks has more than 24,000 stores in over 70 countries, serving the best coffee possible, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.
