Plymouth Meeting, PA, July 24th, 2023 – Terrain, the popular home and garden retailer, restaurant, and event venue from Urban Outfitters, opened last month at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. Equity Retail Brokers agents Ken McEvoy and Keith Seymour represented the University in its tenant search and lease negotiations. Sean Burke of McDevitt represented Terrain.
The University tasked the Equity Retail Brokers (Equity Retail) agents with finding a valuable educational partner for the school that would also be a beneficial addition to the community. In Equity Retail’s initial presentation to the university, they identified Terrain as an ideal target.
“We are thankful to Equity Retail, McDevitt, Terrain and Doylestown Township for a collective effort that resulted in a wonderful addition to our campus,” said Julie Kelly, Delaware Valley University’s AVP for Business Development. “Terrain should prove to be an asset to both the university and the residents of the Greater Doylestown community.”
According to reports, Terrain, which expects to have 200 full- and part-time employees, booked 100 weddings and events before even opening. The company states on its website that it is “excited to celebrate and share the rich agricultural history and curriculum of the university by offering fresh goods produced on campus in addition to a full assortment of home and garden products to the community.”
“Five of our students started their internships with Terrain several weeks ago and additional DelVal students are employees at the location this summer,” remarked Dr. Benjamin Rusiloski, Delaware Valley University President. “We are excited to be part of this unique collaboration that provides our students with hands-on opportunities for experience in paid employment and intern positions.”
