Acme’s parent company announced that it closed a 56,186 square foot fulfillment center in Hatfield, PA that was used by Plated, a meal kit company it purchased two years ago. The closure by Albertsons affects 56 people, according to a state filing.
Albertsons plans to discontinue the Plated subscription service and turn it into an in-house private label.
“Our vision for Plated includes an expanded set of products that goes far beyond a dinner-based solution and into a comprehensive in-house culinary brand,” according to Albertsons Chief Merchandising Officer Geoff White.
