The Fresh Market opens in Philly’s Chestnut Hill

The Fresh Market grocery store opened in Chestnut Hill late last month. It’s the chain’s first Philadelphia store, and its fifth in Pennsylvania.

The market takes up 21,000 square feet on the ground floor of a new mixed-use property that includes 20 condominium units. The site was formerly occupied by a Magarity Ford dealership that sat vacant for several years. Plans for the store were announced in 2011, but concerns from neighbors delayed the project.
